PM Modi hoists saffron flag atop Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple

Ayodhya, Nov 25 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat ceremonially hoisted the Dharma Dhwaj (saffron flag) atop the shikhar of the sacred Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple during Abhijit Muhurat on Tuesday, marking the completion of the temple’s construction.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present on the occasion.

The flag hoisting was done by pressing a button by the PM and RSS chief, amid hymns chanted by priests and saints.

The radiant sun depicted on the flag symbolizes the brilliance, valor, and divine influence of Lord Ram, while the engraved ‘Om’ symbol and tree convey a message of spirituality and cultural continuity.

The specially designed saffron flag, measuring 22 feet long and 11 feet wide, was hoisted to mark this historic event. Around 6,000 special invitees, including saints, temple construction workers, donors, and others, attended the grand ceremony.

Earlier, PM Modi and Mohan Bhagwat performed puja and aarti at the Garbh Griha of the Ram Temple and visited the Ram Durbar on the first floor. Before entering the temple complex, they also offered prayers at the Saptarishi Temples, Sheshavatar Temple of Lord Laxman, and Maa Annapurna Temple.

The PM held a brief roadshow from Saket College to the Ram Temple, during which devotees showered flowers on the convoy. The ceremony is being seen as a historic and symbolic moment, reflecting the spiritual and cultural significance of the temple in Ayodhya.
